Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center is proud to share that Amelie Anderson was awarded the 2026 American Birding Association (ABA) Young Birder of the Year award! Amelie has been an active Evergreen Audubon member since 2025, and is the Eagle Scout who installed the Native Plant Garden in the front of Evergreen Nature Center. Amelie is an incredible young lady, and her passion for birding and the environment is evident from the moment you meet her. In her article with ABA, Amelie shares,
“Birding has been a fundamental aspect of my life, ever since I was eight years old… Over the years, my curiosity blossomed into a compassion for the natural world. Today, my life and appreciation for the world I live in have been influenced by nothing if not birding. I joined the program to grow my own knowledge and skill; in hopes to influence others in the community to do the same.”
