Summer Day Camps!

Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center invites all young explorers to our nature- based summer day camps! These half-day camps are designed to get kiddos exploring the outdoors in a safe, and educational setting. Each week has a different theme and will focus on a different topic, but every week of camp is full of nature-based learning and engagement!

Camp Information

  • Camps are available for children starting at 4 years of age, up to grade 6.
  • Location: All camps start and end at Evergreen Nature Center
  • Times: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Weekly Sessions (Monday – Friday)
    • Starting the 2nd week of June through the 1st full week of August
  • Pricing:
    • Evergreen Audubon Members | $175 per camper
    • Non-Members | $200 per camper

Geology Rocks! | June 8-12 | Register Here

Does your nature explorer come home with their pockets full of rocks? Then this camp week is for them! Become a geologist for a week and learn all about the exciting stories that rocks can tell us! The Rocky Mountains are geological marvels and are a fascinating way to learn about Colorado’s history. Campers will learn how to identify some of our most common rocks and minerals using dichotomous keys, study rocks up close with microscopes, and of course, spend time hiking to find specimens!

Powerful Predators | July 6-10 | Register Here

Spend a week with Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center learning about the differences between predators and prey! We’ll explore the incredible adaptations that allow nocturnal predators, like owls, to hunt at night, along with the unique movements of large cats like mountain lions, the fascinating digestion system of snakes, and so much more! Campers will learn about predator-prey relationships and food chains through interactive games, habitat exploration, and meeting our live animal ambassadors!

Calling all young creatives! Art is one of the ways we connect with the outdoors and one of the ways that we study nature. These half-day camps are focused on exploring creativity, and finding art all around us. Each day we’ll explore a new art medium and find connections with the natural world.

Navigating Nature: Geocaching | July 20-24 | Register Here

Explore the outdoors by searching for hidden treasures in nature! Campers will learn to navigate with GPS technology and go on scavenger hunts throughout Evergreen. Learn how to read maps, use a compass, and even build their own map. Students will navigate through a new adventure each day: discover hidden caches, learn about geologic features, and even create their own cache!
