The 27th annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is a global four-day event, being held this year from Friday, February 16, through Monday, February 19, 2024. You are encouraged to count birds at your feeders (or at any other location of your choice) for as little as fifteen minutes during this four-day period. Results are then reported online at birdcount.org where you can explore real-time maps and charts that show what others are reporting during and after the count.  To learn more about the GBBC go to –birdcount.org.  Each checklist submitted during the GBBC helps researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology learn more about how birds are doing around the world, and how to protect them.
