The August chapter social meeting will be an informal conversation with our guest, Jake Sonberg, Wildlife Manager for the Evergreen South district, Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The social gathering starts at 6 pm on the porch of Evergreen Nature Center. It will also be an opportunity to visit new exhibits in Evergreen Nature Center and to explore Bancroft Meadow.

June 2024 Chapter Meeting: Native plants for high-altitude gardens

Our June chapter meeting on Tuesday June 4, 2024 at 6:30 pm will be be all about our Native Plants, with Dr. Maggi Davis of the Colorado Native Plant Society. This is a must attend meeting for all our members with love of our native flora, especially as Spring blooms into our Evergreen World and the Evergreen Audubon Native Plant Sale happens on June 1! You won’t want to miss it. See you there!

May 2024 Chapter Meeting: Grasslands, Birds, and Grazing

Our May 2024 Evergreen Audubon Chapter meeting will be an exploration in how partnering with farmers and ranchers can improve and expand bird habitat in the grasslands that encompass the plains ecosystems of Colorado. This is a presentation you must see if you have ever birded the grasslands and prairies that surround Denver and the Front range. We look forward to seeing you there!

The effects of changing climate on flowering plants and the birds that depend on them, especially the Broad-Tailed Hummingbird, will be the focus of your Evergreen Audubon April Chapter meeting when David Inouye, retired professor from the University of Maryland and Researcher at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, presents “Floral resources for migratory hummingbirds” on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 6:30 pm at Evergreen Church of the Transfiguration and virtually via Zoom.
