Name Our New Snakes!

Last month we introduced you to two new animal ambassadors now living at Evergreen Nature Center – a juvenile albino milk snake, and a seven-year old bullsnake! Now we need your help coming up with names for these beautiful animals. We’ll give you some information about each snake below, but would encourage you to visit the nature center to meet these animals in person and get to know them!

Our albino milk snake is only one year old and about three feet long. They have a very shy, but sweet temperament and spend most of their time in one of the hides in their enclosure. Their albinism means they have poor eyesight and are a little bit skittish in a new environment. However, once out and about they seem very curious of their surroundings, and do a great job with programming and handling! What names come to mind when you see this sweet snake?

Next is our seven year old bullsnake! This snake is quite large (over five feet long!) and is very active in their enclosure. You can often see them curiously roaming around their home, climbing along the enclosure features, and digging holes in the substrate! They seem very intrigued by people observing them, and will often poke their head out of one of the hides to say “hello” to visitors. Despite their large size, they are very calm when handled and seem to enjoy being held when out for programming. Stop by the nature center and spend some quality time with the bullsnake to see what names come to mind!
