Despite its regular passage, I am continually caught off guard by how quickly time flies. Summer has arrived and brings with it the launch of our summer camps, numerous public programs, our Wildlife Watch season, and the eventual opening of the new Evergreen Nature Center! We would love to have you join us as we jump into this busy season. There are many ways you can get involved and support the growth of this incredibly special organization. Below are some of the opportunities coming up.

Summer Camp Volunteers (June-August)
We are in need of volunteer support to help run these half-day camps throughout the summer and would greatly appreciate your assistance! A volunteer shift would be 3 hours in length and would include offsite transportation to Open Space Parks throughout the week. We start and end each camp day at the Evergreen Nature Center.
Storytime with Evergreen Library Volunteers (Wednesdays and Fridays, June-July)
Our partnership with Evergreen Library is growing and we have increased the number of Storytime programs we are hosting this summer! We need volunteer support to represent Evergreen Audubon at these programs and open the Nature Center if bathrooms are needed. We are thrilled to be able to host these programs at our new location – weather permitting, we will welcome families at the gorgeous meadow along Bear Creek by the new ENC!
Evergreen Nature Center Move-In
There is a substantial amount of work that needs to be done to make our new building move-in ready. We will be needing volunteer support throughout the summer to get ready for our opening day, still to be determined (at this point, we’re aiming for early August). We will need help with numerous projects – please stay tuned for specifics and reach out if you can help.
Elevation Celebration (Saturday & Sunday, July 29-30)
Evergreen Audubon is a vendor at Conifer’s Elevation Celebration street fair event! We need volunteer help to staff the table, interact with visitors, and facilitate gift shop sales – simple training is provided. Shifts are divided into 2-hour increments and additional details will be provided! Before or after your shift, you are welcome to explore the event and see some of the musical performances.
