Christmas is just around the corner, which means the Evergreen-Idaho Springs Christmas Bird Count, and that means we will be having our annual review of winter birds led by our own Chuck Aid at at the December 2024 Evergreen Audubon Chapter Meeting. This is always a fun-filled learning event that prepares us to have a world-class Christmas Bird Count. Be there in person or virtually at 6 pm on December 3, 2024. It’s a Chapter Program you won’t want to miss!

July 20 Bird Walk to Pine Valley Ranch Park

Pine Valley Ranch Park has a variety of habitats conducive for many foothills/montane species,  Riparian willow habitat along the North Fork of the South Platte conducive to sparrows and warblers, dippers in the stream, bluebirds in the meadow, House and Canyon Wrens at cliff edges and a burn area adjacent to Ponderosa Pines that support a variety of woodpeckers.

May 11 – Bird Walk to Walden and Sawhill Ponds

The Walden-Sawhill Ponds complex is an incredible place to find migrating and summer resident waterfowl, shorebirds, raptors and songbirds through the winding complex of ponds, wetlands, and side streams of Boulder Creek. Join us for a great morning of birding, but don’t hesitate; spaces are limited!
