Run for the Birds!

I am excited to share that Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center has been selected as a Charity Partner for the upcoming Denver Colfax Marathon, May 16-17! The Colfax Marathon is the largest marathon weekend in the Rocky Mountain Region, and we are thrilled to be participating. This Boston qualifier race weekend brings more than 25,000 runners to the Denver area, and it is a fantastic exposure opportunity for our organization. The race weekend supports the 2nd largest Charity Partner program in the United States, second only to the New York City Marathon. This is the 20th year of the event, and is sure to be an exciting sporting weekend!

So how can you get involved? If you are a runner, or know someone who is, you can support Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center just by signing up for the race! We are utilizing this partnership opportunity as an outreach event, so no fundraising is required. Simply register for any of the race distances: 5K, Urban 10 Miler, Half-Marathon, Marathon, or Marathon Relay; and select Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center as your Charity Partner during registration. The more runners that sign-up with our organization, the more exposure we get at the event, so tell your friends! We are hoping to get 10 runners to select us as their charity partner, as that means we automatically get invited back to participate next year. However, our dream goal would be to get 25 runners signed up for us to be part of the Charity Partner Village at the event. Participating at new events is a great way for Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center to further our message of bird conservation, environmental education, and fostering contagious enthusiasm for the natural world.

Now is the best time to sign-up, as there is a price increase on March 11th. Lace up your running shoes, tell your friends, and join us at this exciting new event in May!
