Lisa Wald, Director of Communications

Lisa Wald

Lisa Wald has been involved in the Evergreen Audubon since 2004, and she was instrumental in getting the Evergreen Nature Center started in 2009. As a native Texan who vacationed in Colorado growing up (and who idolized John Denver), Lisa’s lifetime dream of living in the mountains was finally realized when she and husband, David, transferred here in 2002. Lisa has a holistic love of nature and all its elements.

Lisa has a Master’s degree in earthquake seismology and worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for 36 years, in Pasadena, CA and in Golden, CO. After doing research early in her career, she started the Outreach & Education Program in the Pasadena office, and then turned to web development in the early 90’s. Later in her career, she wrote science articles about USGS research aimed at a non-technical audience. She retired in June of 2023. Over the years, she’s honed her web design and science communication skills as well as her skills in print design for flyers, brochures, newsletters, and posters, to name a few.

Lisa has also served as the Vice-President and Secretary for the Evergreen Board. She has created many print products for the Audubon and Nature Center, redesigned and maintains the website, and volunteers at the Nature Center.
