A whirlwind! That’s the only way to describe the past 18 months or so in the life of Evergreen Audubon and Evergreen Nature Center. In addition to our usual full calendar of chapter meetings and annual events, we moved into the new nature center with all that entailed, stayed open through the winter months for the first time, expanded programming and outreach, sold-out our day camps, and established new programs for children and families. Thank you for your support, participation, and dedication. We’ve done it together and it’s all been nothing short of amazing.
Now, as the summer winds down, the board is planning a fall retreat. We will turn our attention to reaffirming Evergreen Audubon’s Mission and Vision and will update the 5-year Strategic Plan. It is amazing to realize that the new plan will take us through the year 2028, our 60th Anniversary!
As we prepare for this upcoming planning session, we are revisiting some of our history and evaluating what we do and how we do it. I am interested to know: How do you think we’re doing? Do you have questions? Concerns? Ideas for the next five years? What would you like to see happening? I look forward to hearing from you. Please share your thoughts with me or any board member during the informal August or September chapter meetings, or contact me: Melissa Leasia.
