Whew! Summer camp season is coming to an end and it has been an exciting time! We have traveled around Evergreen with almost 30 kids throughout the summer exploring different facets of nature. We were excited to use the RTD FlexRide bus to visit multiple Open Space parks over the course of our camp weeks! This was a fun opportunity for our campers to explore different habitats and scenery as part of their camp experience. I am immensely grateful to our summer camp volunteers who spent their mornings with our campers and truly provided an incredible amount of support to enhance our campers’ nature exploration! Thank you to Linda Engelhart, Bridget Smith, Melissa Leasia, Marcy Robertson, and Craig Blett for volunteering with us!
We have one more week of camp coming up August 8-12 for middle school-age students (grades 6-8), and there are spots open for registration! Our Nature Ninja camp allows students to perfect and harness their “nature ninja” skills through awareness-heightening games, team-building activities, mapping exercises, mindfulness activities, and lessons in Leave No Trace. This camp is perfect for older campers who enjoy the challenge of working with others, expanding upon their own independence, optimizing all their senses, and connecting deeply with nature.
