Chapter Social Meeting Details
We have found that the sanctuary at the Church of the Transfiguration is not an ideal setting for our regular chapter meetings during the hot summer months – it can get very warm and very stuffy. So, your Evergreen Audubon Board decided to try something new–informal meetings at the Evergreen Nature Center, providing our Chapter members, guest and friends an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed evening together under Evergreen’s lovely summer skies.
Our August open house/social on the porch of Evergreen Nature Center was a resounding success–even the afternoon thunder showers cooperated–and we hope to continue this trend.
Our September Open House will feature surprise guest expert, who will tell us about important wildlife conservation work that they are undertaking.
And you are not limited to our lovely wraparound porch overlooking Bancroft Meadow; the nature center itself will be open so that you can see what’s new: Jennifer the Bull Snake’s new habitat; our new taxidermy wolf will be on exhibit; and you won’t want to miss the new Bird Garden in the back yard – designed and planted by our garden volunteers – with a new feeding station donated by Front Range Birding Company.
We also invite you to explore beautiful Bancroft Meadow and the little stretch of Bear Creek that runs nearby. Be sure to arrive by 6 pm to enjoy the cool evening weather, listen for song sparrows and American Dippers singing along Bear Creek, and catch up with your Evergreen Audubon neighbors and friends. We look forward to seeing you on September 3rd!
