Once again, Evergreen Audubon will be building nestboxes to provide nest sites for birds in our watershed.  Our 2023 inaugural family-friendly nestbox build was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event.  We gather together to assemble nestboxes that will be sold at Evergreen’s Alternative Gift Fair in November and at the Conifer and Evergreen King Soopers stores in March. Getting these nestboxes out into our community provides much needed nesting locations at a time when remediation and development reduce natural cavities and platforms that our birds would normally use.  It’s part of our community outreach and a lot of help is needed, of all ages and abilities.  If you have a cordless drill, bring it along, but no worries, additional tools will be available and experienced builders will be happy to help you get started.

So mark your calendars for  September 7, 2024 and plan to join us at the Evergreen Nature Center. We will start at 10 am and will be building nestboxes until 3 pm. This is a great opportunity for families to work together, try out some building skills, and perhaps take home a nestbox to house birds in your neighborhood! We look forward to you joining us!
