If it is midsummer, then our annual Nestbox Build Day is coming, as sure as peaches are from Palisades! Our 2023 inaugural family-friendly nestbox build was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event. This event is part of Evergreen Audubon’s outreach to our community – they will be sold at Evergreen’s Alternative Gift Fair in November and at the Conifer and Evergreen King Soopers stores in March.
By building and selling these nestboxes we provide nesting birds the opportunity to breed successfully, and it is especially important as fire mitigation and development reduce appropriate nesting sites. Individuals and families are welcome and encouraged to come build nestboxes together, and perhaps take one home for the birds that live nearby.
We look forward to having you help us build nestboxes and solve the bird housing shortage! See you there!
