Join Evergreen Audubon and Evergreen Metro District for our returning watershed series!

Bear Creek is a vital water source for our mountain community, and its watershed stretches from Summit Lake on Mount Bluesky all the way down to Bear Creek Lake. This program series will give participants experience caring for our watershed; including informational sessions about our watershed! You can sign-up for one session, or the entire series below.

  • Wednesday, June 17th – “Wildlife in our Watershed”
    • Learn about the animals that live throughout the watershed — from black bears and mountain lions to birds of prey — and discover how these species are connected to the local ecosystem.
  • Wednesday, July 15th – “What’s in your Backyard?”
    • A presentation on common (and not so common) grasses, plants, and seeds in our mountain communities.
  • Wednesday, August 19th – “All About Algae”
    • Learn about algae in our mountain waters and their role in a healthy ecosystem with Al Polonsky, “Denver’s Premier Water Nerd”
