What is a nestbox?
Also known as bird houses, nestboxes play a vital role in fostering bird habitat and protecting species diversity across Colorado’s Front Range. Join Evergreen Audubon and Mountain Area Land Trust for a family-friendly event, where staff and volunteers will provide nestbox kits and hands-on instruction for you to build and take home. All nestbox materials will be supplied. Participants are encouraged to bring a cordless drill if available; extras will be provided.
Things to know:
- No experience is necessary; we will show you exactly what to do.
- Everyone is welcome. We especially encourage families with children to come and build nestboxes together.
- Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
- Choose between the following nestbox builds at registration (limited supply of each):
- Bluebird Nestbox – $25
- Chickadee Nestbox – $20
- Robin Platform – $10
- Limited to 1 nestbox per family
