Presentation Details:
Summer in the Evergreen area provides great opportunities to view glorious birds, elk, bobcats, and other wildlife. Those incredible animals inspire many of us to move from viewing wildlife to attempting to capture those breathtaking
moments with a camera, or more often now, a smartphone. If you are like me, when you later review the many, many, many photos that you had so easily taken, they often lack the vibrancy of the moment. What makes a good bird or wildlife photo, and how do you take your photos from mundane to magnificent?
While we can’t promise an overnight transformation in your photographic prowess, we can promise you that Evergreen Audubon’s August 2023 Chapter Meeting will provide you with an incredible opportunity to learn what a professional bird photographer does to make vibrant, unforgettable photographs. Be sure to be there, in person or virtually, when Evergreen resident and professional bird and wildlife photographer Alan Murphy presents “Ingredients of a Great Bird Photograph” on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Alan will be discussing the following topics.
- How to choose the best image to process
- How to compose and crop your images
- How to choose the best wing position
- How to include habitat in your images
- How to choose the best shooting perspective
- How to find the best background
- How to work with virtual reality
- How to find an image within an image
- How to choose the right dept-of-field
- How and when to include reflections
- How to add drama, action and interest
The information Alan provides will help you improve your photographs, so this is a meeting you won’t want to miss!
Please Note: Our Chapter meeting will be held at our Evergreen Audubon’s new home on the Church of the Transfiguration campus in Evergreen at 27640 CO-74, Evergreen). Across the parking lot from the new home of the Evergreen Audubon Nature Center, we will meet in the main sanctuary of the Church of the Transfiguration.
