Join us for our Grand Re-Opening

Be one of the first to tour the nature center, meet our LIVE Animal Ambassadors, take home a craft, and enjoy some light refreshments. Check the schedule below for timed events, or drop in anytime during the event to explore our new space!

Birding Walk in the Meadow (8:30 am – 9:30 am)

Join our Director of Bird Monitoring to see what birds are singing in the meadow! No birding experience is necessary. Evergreen Audubon has binoculars for you to use!

Creatures Up Close! (10:30 am, 12:30 pm, & 2:30 pm)

(This program is held in Bancroft Meadow – adjacent to the Nature Center)
Meet our resident bullsnake, Jennifer, and learn all about her behaviors and adaptations!
These are 30-minute programs.

Owl Investigations & Pellet Dissection (11:30 am & 1:30 pm)

(This program is held in Douglas Hall – adjacent to the Nature Center)
Learn all about our resident owls and “Whoooo” is calling in the night! Dissect your own owl pellet and take home any bones you may find. This program is limited to the first 15 participants (limit 1 pellet per person). These are 45-minute programs

Seed Bombs (11 am & 3 pm)

(This program is held in Douglas Hall – adjacent to the Nature Center)
Native plants are an incredible benefit to our pollinators and birds. Learn about some of our native Evergreen plants and create clay seed bombs to take home and plant in your yard! These are 45-minute programs

Nature’s Story Corner (throughout the day)

Listen to a storybook reading in our kids’ room! Find a seat on a tree-cookie cushion and enjoy a nature-based story. Story Corner’s will run for 15 minutes at the beginning of each hour from 10 am – 4 pm. The last Story Corner will start at 3 pm.

Celebration Cake! (2:30 pm)

Celebrate with us on our opening day by enjoying a slice of cake! Slices will be available on a first-come first-served basis.
